Role Objective:

To support engineering material section in Monitoring and executing all activities related to custom clearance and transport of cargo, dues paid, and the section kept informed. Submit data documents and written reports to Technical Material Manager regarding clearance and delivery of the cargo.

The duties of Clearance Agent include.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare, submit, and process the required customs documentation with the authorities for clearance of shipments.
• Inform and submit documentation to regulatory bodies like the Environment Authority and Oman CAA, … etc.
• Ensure notifications have been selected for each arrived consignment; likewise, ensure that Advices of Arrivals have been issued on consignments, as and when appropriate.
• To validate the accuracy of the air waybill details entered in the system for Customs-clearance formalities.
• Segregation, filing and ensuring all airway bills, Hawb provided according to the Manifest, and as well ensure concerned supervisor endorse it.
• On approval of Customs’ Bill of Entry, update the system by recording the Bill of Entry reference number and indicating that the shipment has been Customs-cleared
• Ensure to report immediately any suspicious activity or incident or accident in the cargo premise to Controller - Materials. 
• Upon taking over cargo documents from the Imports-Documentation staff, ensure that means of notifications have been selected for each arrived consignment; likewise, ensure that Advice of Arrivals have been issued on consignments, as and when appropriate.
• Ensure that the correct description and value of goods are shown on the bill of entry and that goods come under the correct HS Classification (Harmonized Systems code)

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Secondary School, Graduate shall be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of goods and Materials Custom Clearance
• Hold of Bayan Clearance License.

Special Skills & Knowledge:

• Excellent communication skills (English and Arabic is mandatory and any other language shall be an added advantage)
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office application
• Excellent materials management skills & knowledge in aircraft materials
